Massachusetts Federal Court Endorses Steffans Legal’s Arguments in Denying Employer’s Motion for Summary Judgment

Steffans Legal represents an employee in claims against his former employer in federal court in Springfield. In this case, our client claims that he was discriminated against due to his military status, that his employer breached the parties’ contract, and that the employer failed to pay our client all wages he is owed, including commission payments. The claims arise under Massachusetts and federal law, including the Massachusetts Wage Act and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (“USERRA”).

On December 9, 2021, the employer moved for summary judgment as to each of the employee’s seven claims. On February 1, 2022, the Court held oral arguments on that motion. On February 8, 2020, Judge Mastroianni denied the employer’s motion as to all but one of our client’s seven claims.
